On Wednesday, 110 new cases of coronavirus infected were reported in Odisha and the total number of infected has increased to 3,250. An official of the Health Department said that 97 cases of new cases have been connected to separate centers where people returned from other states have been kept. Apart from this, 13 cases are related to people exposed to infected people.
He further stated that new cases have come from 17 districts, 33 cases have been reported from Jagatsinghpur district, 20 from Cuttack, 14 from Khurda, 11 from Gajapati and seven from Puri. Apart from these, four cases each from Raigad, Nayagarh, Kalahandi and Mayurbhanj, two from Bargarh and one each from Jharsuguda, Bhadrak, Bolangir, Kendrapada, Koraput, Keonjhar and Boudh districts have been reported.
At present, there are 1,106 cases of infected in the state while 2,133 people have become infection-free after treatment. The official said nine people have died due to infection in the state, whereas the infection was confirmed in two other patients but they died due to other causes. A total of 3,026 samples were examined on Tuesday and so far 1,85,410 samples have been tested in the state.
