Seven Nihang Sikhs have been arrested for attacking policemen in Patiala. Along with this, the police have also recovered weapons from the gurdwara of Balbeda village in Patiala. Let me tell you that the commando operation to capture Nihangas was conducted. When the police reached the gurudwara and asked Nihang to come out, they attacked. Shot was fired from inside the gurudwara. After which retaliation, the police also opened fire and a Nihang Sikh was injured in it. In the end the police arrested seven people. After this, during the search, the police found a large amount of weapons in the gurudwara. In which there was also a petrol bomb.
Punjab Special Chief Secretary K.B.S. Sidhu has told about the operation, "7 Nihangas have been arrested from the Gurudwara of village Balbera. One of them was injured in police firing and was taken to hospital. When the police went to apprehend them, they fired from inside the gurudwara. This operation I.G. Patiala zone was under the supervision of Jatinder Singh Aulakh.
Who are Nihang Sikhs
Actually the Nihangas are known for their aggressive personality. Sikhs possessing traditional weapons are considered Nihang Sikhs. It is said that such Sikhs are always ready for the orders of the ten gurus. These Sikh Gurus were the strong guard of the Sahibans during the tenure of the Gurus. It is also told about these Sikhs that when Sikhism is attacked, these Nihang Sikhs protect "Sikhs" and "Guru Granth Sahib" till the last breath, regardless of their life at that time.
