There has been a major accident in Ooty via Coonoor in Tamil Nadu. Let us inform that the MI-17 chopper of the army has crashed in Tamil Nadu. According to sources, there were 14 people in that helicopter. Along with this, CDS Bipin Rawat was also an board. According to the information received so far, the bodies of 4 people have been recovered.

Chopper is completely damaged

According to news agency ANI, the helicopter was going from Sulur airbase to Wellington. A team of doctors, army officers, and CoBRA commandos are present on the spot.

Efforts are on to identify the bodies which have been recovered, as they have been badly burnt. Some more bodies are visible from below the hill. In the visuals of the accident that have come to the fore, the chopper looks completely damaged and is on fire.
