The Ukrainian plane that arrived to rescue its citizens from Afghanistan has been hijacked by unidentified people who flew it into Iran last Sunday. The Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Yenin claimed this on Tuesday. According to Yenin, this plane forcibly taken to Iran. He has also told that the government's three evacuation attempts to bring its citizens from Kabul have not been successful. The reason for this was that their citizens could not reach Kabul airport.
Yenin further said, "Last Sunday, our plane was hijacked by other people. On Tuesday, the plane practically stolen from us, it flew into Iran with an unidentified group of passengers onboard instead of airlifting Ukrainians. Our next three evacuation attempts were also not successful because our people could not get into the airport."
Significantly, on Sunday, a Ukrainian military transport plane carrying a total of 83 people came to Kiev from Afghanistan. Of this, 31 were citizens of Ukraine. According to the President's Office, about 12 Ukrainian soldiers had returned from this. Apart from this, there were also some reporters and other public figures in it. According to the Ukraine government, about a hundred of their citizens are still present in Kabul and are waiting for their safe return from there. Let us tell you that two days ago, America had expressed fears that Islamic State (IS) terrorists might attack their soldiers present at Kabul airport. Now the United Nations has also reiterated the same fears.
