US Accuses Hackers of Stealing COVID-19 Vaccine Research for China

The US Department of Justice on Tuesday has accused two Chinese nationals of targeting the computer networks of biotech companies worldwide.

The US Department of Justice on Tuesday has accused two Chinese nationals of targeting the computer networks of biotech companies worldwide. These companies are working on the Coronavirus vaccine, technology and treatment. The department has accused two Chinese hackers working with the state security ministry for attempting to hack a global computer intrusion campaign. They were targeting intellectual property and confidential business information, including COVID-19 research.

Hackers were working with China's state ministry of security: John Demers

Assistant Attorney General of National Security, John Demers has also said about this. He said that Chinese hackers Li Xiaoyu and Dong Xiaoji have also targeted human rights activists in the United States and Hong Kong. Demers said the hackers were working with China's state ministry of security.

The US alleges that a hacking operation by two former computer engineers was currently being carried out for more than ten years. In this, companies in countries with high technology industries were targeted. These include the United States, Australia, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Lithuania, Netherlands, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

China is trying to threaten countries through cybercrime: David Bowdich

Demers said that China has now, along with Russia, Iran and North Korea, replaced itself with that shameful club of nations. These allow cybercriminals to work for the benefit of the state.  FBI deputy director, David Bowdich has also targeted China. He said that China is trying to threaten not only the US but also other countries through cybercrime.

US attorney William Hallop said hackers targeted companies around the world. He said that computer systems of many businesses, individuals and agencies have been hacked by hackers all over the world including the US and after this sensitive and confidential information is being stolen.
