Adnan Sami Thanked Singer Asha Bhosle for Padma Shri

Sami was the lead actor of the Pakistani film 'Sargam' (1995), in which Asha Bhosle sang a song.

Singer Adnan Sami was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian award, from President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday. He was honoured with the award at a function held in New Delhi.

Adnan thanked singer Asha Bhosle after being awarded the Padma Shri award and said during a conversation in an interview that Asha ji has played a very important role in his career. Sami was the lead actor of the Pakistani film 'Sargam' (1995), in which Asha Bhosle sang a song. Later both of them sang together for 'Kabhi Toh Nazar Milao'.

Adnan Sami expressed his gratitude towards his family and Asha Bhosle after receiving the award and said, "Apart from my father, my mother and my wife Roya (Sami Khan), I want to thank all the people I have met in my life. Also, everyone who worked with me, especially Asha Bhosle, because my first record in India was a song with her. She has played a very important role in my career."

Adnan continued, "I would not have received this honour without the love I have received from the people of India. This is one of the most iconic and incredible moments of my life and I will never be able to thank God enough for it. You know we are in Delhi and it is one of my favourite places in the world because some of the most amazing things have happened to me in Delhi. I have got citizenship here. This is where I got the Padma Shri. Here, I am celebrating with family and friends."

Adnan dedicated this award to his parents

Adnan said, "Sometimes you don't have words to express yourself. I am thankful to the government. Thank you, people, because without them nothing is possible. I dedicate this to my parents. It is not only an honour but also a responsibility which I will try to fulfill."
