Union Information and Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Sunday that he made the first phone call from BSNL's 4G network. Giving this information on Twitter, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has written, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of self-reliant India is being realized. Also, the minister said that this network of BSNL has been made and designed in India itself. It is worth noting that BSNL 4G is now giving free 4G SIM to its customers till December 31.
In January this year, BSNL issued an Expression of Interest for Proof of Concept (POC) from Indian companies interested in participating in the upcoming 4G tender. However, according to the information of the department, a letter of intent was issued to 5 bidders in July.
Expressing his happiness, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the reason for this success is PM Modi's vision of a self-reliant India. Also, minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that this network of BSNL has been built and designed in India itself.
The central government had told Parliament in March that BSNL expects to start 4G services in 18 to 24 months. However, the central government had approved the revival plan of BSNL two years ago in 2019. This included administrative allocation of spectrum for 4G services through budget allocation to the state-owned telecom company.
It should be noted that where telecom service provider companies in the country have started preparing to launch 5G service. At the same time, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited ie BSNL is still dependent on 3G and 2G services. Meanwhile, this claim of the IT Minister is very important.
