The central government has recently increased the DA of central employees. With this decision of the government, the amount of monthly salary, provident fund, and gratuity of the employees will also increase.

The Central Government has recently increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of central employees. DA of employees has been increased by 11 percent. The government has increased the DA from 17 percent to 28 percent. This will benefit about 65.26 lakh pensioners and about 48.34 lakh central employees. With this decision of the government, the monthly salary of the employees, provident fund ie PF, and the amount of gratuity will also increase.

PF or gratuity will increase like this

Provident fund i.e. PF and gratuity amount is calculated on the basic salary of the employee. By increasing the DA of the employees, the basic salary will also increase and due to this, their PF contribution will also increase. It is worth noting that the contribution of the employee in the PF fund is 12 percent. With the increase in the basic salary, its amount increases. The amount of gratuity is also calculated on the basis of this.

DA arrears will not be available

The central government had banned the increase in dearness allowance to the employees from January 2020. Now the 11 percent increase in DA has been implemented from July 1, 2021. At the same time, the employees were demanding that the government should pay them DA from the time of stopping the hike, but the government refused it. This means that last year due to Corona, the government had banned DA, the DA arrears of those 18 months will not be available to the employees.

Relief to pensioners also

The Central Government has also increased the Dearness Relief (DR) given to pensioners by 11 percent. This has also been implemented from July 1, 2021.
