Inflation is not taking the name of stopping in the country. After domestic gas cylinders, petrol and diesel, now the prices of PNG and CNG have increased in Delhi NCR. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) late on Wednesday night hiked PNG prices by Re 1 in the national capital Delhi and adjoining cities (NCR) to pass on the increase in "input" cost.

The increase in PNG prices comes a day after fuel retailers increased the price of LPG cylinders by Rs 50 per cylinder in view of global gas and oil prices. According to messages sent to consumers, after the hike in the prices, PNG will cost Rs 36.61 per unit (SCM, or Standard Cubic Metre) in Delhi and Rs 35.86 per unit in Ghaziabad.

Price of CNG is now Rs 57.51 per kg in Delhi

Earlier, IGL had increased the prices of CNG by 50 paise per kg on March 8 but did not change the prices of PNG. The price of CNG is now Rs 57.51 per kg in Delhi and Rs 59.58 per kg in Ghaziabad and Noida. IGL officials had told that it would have to increase the share of imported gas in sales as the allocation of domestic gas has proved insufficient to meet the growing demand.

Prices of petrol and diesel

Let us tell you that the prices of petrol and diesel were increased by 80 paise per litre for the second consecutive day on Wednesday. According to the price notification issued by the public sector petroleum marketing companies, the price of petrol in the national capital Delhi has jumped from Rs 96.21 per litre to Rs 97.01 per litre now. At the same time, the price of diesel has increased from Rs 87.47 per litre to Rs 88.27.
