In a letter sent to the minister today, the organization has demanded that the name of the producer country should be mentioned on every item sold in India through e-commerce or markets or any other means. At the same time, it should also be told where the raw material has been brought for him. It is noteworthy that, accepting the demand made earlier by CAT, the Central Government has made it mandatory to mention both the above details on all the products sold on the government e-commerce portal JAM.

CAT national chairman BC Bhartia said that CAIT has received information about various products imported from China and other countries by sticking the label "Made In India Label" by certain elements and sold in India. In view of this, CAT has demanded from Commerce Minister Goyal that in India, any manufactured goods and any goods sold in e-commerce, offline market, large corporate showrooms, direct selling or any other way It is very important to make it mandatory to write the prior details of the goods of one or other countries engaged in making.

There should also be a description of the composition of the products

Bhartia said that customers will be disillusioned if there are details about the composition of products in the manufacture of goods. It will know whether the product is 100% made in India or made using imported or Indian ingredients. This will also reveal whether it is a fully imported product. All these things should be known on the goods so that when buying the goods, the consumers should be absolutely sure from which country they are buying the goods.

Bhartia says that the mandatory provision of mentioning the Country of Origin and Value addition on every item sold in the country will help customers understand that the goods they are buying are in India. Or in which country. This will clear all customer confusion. Such a provision would also strengthen the concept of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Make in India" program.
