Altman said that I asked the Prime Minister why India had adopted ChatGPT so quickly and so much. The Prime Minister had wonderful answers about it. Altman said that we also talked about the opportunities of AI in India and its regulation.

This meeting between the Prime Minister and Sam Altman, the creator of ChatGPT, took place at a time when the Government of India wants to regulate AI-based chatbots. However, India's approach to regulating AI and Altman's approach may differ.

Regulating AI is not a country's issue

Recently, in an interview to Times of India, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said, 'When it comes to platforms like ChatGPT and Bard, there are concerns about copyrights and algorithms. The whole world is watching what should be the regulatory setup and framework for AI? Digital Ministers of G7 countries are seriously concerned that what should be the framework for this? So it is not an issue of any one country.

This is a global issue, which should be seen from an international perspective. Various countries are seeing the growing influence of AI platforms. AI related law in India will be prepared in collaboration with other like-minded countries.
