Tata Motors launched the EV variant of its popular hatchback Tata Tiago today. Its starting price is Rs 8.49 lakh. This is the cheapest electric car in the country. This EV will get a range of 315 km on a single charge. Its booking will be from 10 October 2022 and delivery will be from January 2023.

Tata Tiago has become the Country's Cheapest Electric Car in the EV segment

The auto giant is already leading the EV segment in the country with models like Tata Nexon EV and Tata Tigor EV. Tata Tiago has become India's first premium and Country's Cheapest Electric Car in the EV segment. It will take 57 minutes to charge the Tiago battery to 80% with a DC fast charger.

Tiago gets 8 speaker system, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, push-button start/stop, electric ORVMs, and more. According to the claims of Tata Motors, the Tiago EV is the safest electric hatchback in India. A battery and motor warranty will be available for up to 1,60,000 km on this EV.

Tata Tiago EV, Cheapest Electric Car comes with two driving modes

Two driving modes will be available in Tata Tiago EV. This cheapest electric car will catch the speed of 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. Out of the first 10,000 bookings of Tiago EV, 2,000 units will be reserved for the existing Tata EV users.

After introducing Cheapest Electric Car, Tata Plans to bring 10 EVs in 4 years

After launching cheapest electric car, Tata is planning to introduce 10 battery electric vehicles in the next 4 years. Addressing the shareholders in the 76th Annual Report, Chairman N Chandrasekaran said that the penetration of Electric Vehicles (EV) in our portfolio in India has now doubled to 2% this year.

He said that we expect rapid growth in the coming years. By 2025, Tata Motors will have 10 new BEV vehicles. The Tata Group will invest in setting up charging infrastructure, besides exploring partnerships in cell and battery manufacturing in India and beyond.
