Popular messaging app WhatsApp is soon going to provide HD image sharing feature to Android and iOS device users. According to a WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp is testing this feature for Android users in beta version 2.23.12.13 and iOS users in beta version 23.11.0.76.
With the help of this feature, WhatsApp users will be able to share images up to 4096 X 2692 pixel resolution. Through this feature, the company wants to improve the image sharing experience of the app user.
Right now when users share photos through WhatsApp, the quality of the image gets reduced. In such a situation, after this feature is rolled out, users will be able to easily share high quality images to each other.
In the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, it is visible that the option to share HD quality images is visible right next to the crop icon. When sharing an image by choosing the HD option, a 'HD' watermark appears just below the image.
Along with this, when you touch the option to share HD image, then the option to share image in standard quality will also appear, in which image up to 1600X1052 pixel resolution can be shared.
You can use this feature by using WhatsApp beta version right now. While sharing the image, the quality standard will be selected from the default room. In this case, to share the image in high definition quality, you have to manually choose the HD option. This feature is only for photos. If you want to send video in good quality, you can send it as a document.
If you are not using the beta version app, then you will have to wait till the HD image sharing feature is rolled out in the stable version. Till then you can share photos in document format in good quality.
