Microsoft Changed The Keyboard After 30 Years, Gave A Separate Button For AI Chatbot Copilot

Shivam Verma

Microsoft has made significant changes in the keyboard of laptops and PCs after almost 30 years. The tech company has added a new button to the keyboard to launch its AI chatbot Copilot directly from the keyboard button. With this the company wants to improve the user experience.

Microsoft has introduced 'CoPilot Key' by replacing it with 'Windows Key'. It will be placed next to the 'Alt' key on the right side of most keyboards, with placement varying between OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and other markets. The new button has the Copilot logo.

Currently, this change will be visible in some selected personal computers running Microsoft's Windows 11 operating system. Microsoft introduced the Windows/Start key in 1994. After this, this is the first time that the company has made any modification in the keyboard layout.

If Co-Pilot is not available then this key will launch Windows Search

If Windows Co-Pilot is not yet available in your country, the Co-Pilot key will launch Windows Search instead. The existing Windows key opens the Start menu or by pressing other buttons with it, shortcuts to some other functions can be created.

New 'key' will be introduced in CES technology conference

According to reports, this new Copilot button in the keyboard of Windows 11 will be introduced at the CES Technology Conference. Microsoft will also work with Chat-GPT maker Open-AI for this.
