Qatar World Cup 2022: FIFA Earns Rs 61.97 Thousand Crores From Rights And Ticket Sales

FIFA has earned a revenue of about $ 7.5 billion i.e. 61.97 thousand crore rupees from the rights and ticket sales of Qatar World Cup. Argentina won the FIFA World Cup 2022 title.

Argentina won the FIFA World Cup 2022 title after 36 years by defeating France in a thrilling final match on Sunday. With this, the Qatar World Cup came to an end. Now a report has come out on Monday, in which it has been told that FIFA has earned a revenue of about $ 7.5 billion i.e. 61.97 thousand crore rupees from the rights and ticket sales of Qatar World Cup.

According to CNN-News 18 reports, FIFA had expected total revenue of around $4.7 billion from Qatar World Cup-2022. Whereas, FIFA has earned more than its expectation from this World Cup. According to the report, by the end of December 2020, FIFA had signed commercial contracts worth approximately $3.8 million, which represents approximately 82% of the total revenue budget for 2022.

Expected to earn 90 thousand crore rupees from World Cup-2026

The budget for the next four years was presented to the FIFA Council on 16 December. FIFA is expected to earn a total of $ 11 billion (Rs 90.89 thousand crore) from the World Cup-2026. Let us tell you that the World Cup-2026 will be hosted by three North American countries – US, Mexico and Canada.

FIFA earned $7.5 billion from Qatar World Cup

The Qatar World Cup-2022 has earned about $7.5 billion for FIFA through commercial deals, which is $1 billion more than the previous World Cup in Russia in 2018. The growth in revenue during this year's Football World Cup is also due to FIFA's cost-saving decision to hold the entire competition at one location. FIFA's income in the World Cup comes from 5 different sources

FIFA officials predicted that an additional $7,00,000 (Rs 5.78 crore) would be invested for the game. In which $ 3,00,000 i.e. Rs 2.47 crore will go to Emergency Kovid-19 Funding. FIFA receives most of its income from five different sources, with television broadcasting rights making up the largest contribution. This is followed by marketing rights, hospitality rights and ticket sales, licensing rights and other revenue sources.

Television broadcasting rights were the biggest contributor to the total revenue of the World Cup-2022 with a share of 56%. After this, marketing rights accounted for 29% of the revenue. And 15% of the revenue came from other rights.

In the final match of the World Cup, a total of 12 goals were scored including the fixed 90 minutes, 30 minutes of extra time and then the penalty shootout.
