Elon Musk's electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing company Tesla Inc. has recalled 20 lakh of its vehicles due to technical faults. This recall of Elon Musk's company includes models sold in the US since 2015, in which the autopilot feature is active.

According to the information given by the US Auto Regulator, these electric vehicles have been recalled to fix the fault in the autopilot system. This system works to alert the driver to the road and traffic conditions when the self-drive mode is activated.

Autopilot technology uses cameras and sensors to assess transportation around the vehicle. It also monitors lane markings on the road to keep the vehicle in the safe lane. However, critics have been pointing out many shortcomings in Tesla's autopilot system since the beginning.

Many accidents have occurred due to malfunction in the autopilot system

Tesla's Autopilot system has been controversial and has caused several accidents. This recall has also been issued by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) about 2 years after starting an investigation into such accidents.

NHTSA found during the investigation that the functions used by the Autopilot system to keep the driver alert when self-drive mode is activated were not functioning properly. There is a possibility of an accident due to this.

This is how the company will fix the problem

The company will add additional control alerts to the recalled electric vehicles. Along with this, it will also update the software over the air (OTA), so that the driver can be more attentive while driving. For this the company will not charge any kind of charge from the customers.

Tesla car will enter India next year

Tesla Inc. is going to enter India next year. Tesla's deal with India is in the final stages. Bloomberg had given this information in one of its reports. Recently, Elon Musk had also said that he is planning to visit India next year.

India will allow this American EV company to import electric vehicles in the country from next year and set up a manufacturing plant within a period of two years. It is expected to be officially announced at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in January. Tesla can develop its infrastructure in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

The report says that Tesla is planning to initially invest about $ 2 billion, i.e. about Rs 16,000 crore for the new plant in India. They also plan to buy auto parts worth up to 15 billion dollars, or about Rs 1.2 lakh crore, from India. The company is considering manufacturing some batteries in India to reduce costs.
