Short video and image sharing platform Instagram has rolled out the Reels download feature in the US. Through this feature, users will be able to download reels without using third party apps.
Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, wrote on his broadcast channel, 'In the US, we are rolling out the feature to download reels shared through public accounts to your camera roll.'
Adam Mosseri has pointed out that reels shared via a private account cannot be downloaded. On the other hand, users with a public account can turn off the Reels download feature from the account settings, which will disable the Reels download option.
To Instagram reels, first open the reel you want to download.
After that tap on the share icon present on the right side of the app.
Now download option will appear next to copy link option, you can download reels by tapping on it.
Indians will have to wait for Instagram's Reels download feature for now. Right now this feature has been rolled out only in the US. No official information has been given about when this feature will be rolled out in other countries including India. However, it is believed that the company will soon rollout this feature in other countries including India.
Currently users download through third party apps or hidden tricks to download reels on Instagram. Apart from this, users first set it on their story to download the reels, after that they get the option to download the story and download the reels from there.
