Vaibhav Taneja, New CFO of Elon Musk's Tesla is From India

Indian-origin Vaibhav Taneja has been named the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Tesla, a US-based electric automobile firm. Tesla disclosed this information to the stock market in a filing on Monday. This news came after the resignation of the company's previous CFO, Zachary Kirkhorn.

According to the information, Vaibhav Taneja (45) was made the CFO of Tesla. Along with this, he will also continue to play the present role of the Chief Accounting Officer ie CAO of the company

Kirkhorn's 13-year tenure with the Elon Musk-led company has been regarded as one of "tremendous expansion and growth" by the corporation. Kirhorn, Tesla's Master of Coin and CFO for the past four years, has resigned.

Vaibhav Taneja's Previous Work Life

Let us remind you that Vaibhav Taneja has been Tesla's CAO since March 2019 and Corporate Controller since May 2018. Between February 2017 until May 2018, he worked as Assistant Corporate Controller at SolarCity Corporation, a US-based solar panel developer that Tesla acquired in 2016.

According to corporate documents, he had worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in both India and the United States between July 1999 and March 2016.

Taneja is an Indian commerce graduate from the University of Delhi.

Taneja's career with Tesla began in 2017, when he migrated from SolarCity, a solar energy firm acquired by Tesla.

He began his career as SolarCity's vice president. Later, the position of corporate controller evolved.

Taneja is said to have played a key role in the smooth merger of both firms' accounting staff.

Prior to joining SolarCity, the 45-year-old worked at the 'Big Four' accounting company PricewaterhouseCoopers. According to his LinkedIn profile, he worked with PwC for a remarkable 17 years till March 2016.
