Food delivery platform Zomato has now started hiring after layoffs. Company's co-founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal himself has given this information by sharing the post on LinkedIn. In this post, he told that there are 800 vacancies in the company and those who have been fired can also apply for it.
Deepinder Goyal wrote in a LinkedIn post, 'Hello everyone - We have around 800 positions vacant across 5 roles at Zomato. If you know someone good for any of these roles, please tag them in this thread.'
Deepinder Goyal also assured everyone that his team would reach out to the potential candidates at the earliest. "Please email me at deepinder@zomato.com to express interest in learning more about any of these roles - I and/or my team will get back to you promptly," he wrote. Among the 5 posts for which vacancies have been removed in Zomato, Growth Managers, Product Owner, Chief of Staff to CEO, Generalist and Software Development Engineer are included.
Please tell that Zomato had laid off 2 months back in November. According to reports, the company had laid off at least 4% of its total workforce. About 3,800 employees work in Gurugram-based company Zomato. Zomato had also laid off in 2020, when the company fired about 13% of its 4,320 staff i.e. more than 550 employees due to the slowdown in business due to the pandemic.
Earlier in December, Zomato's co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Gunjan Patidar resigned from the company. Before Gunjan, three top level employees of the company had also redesigned. Zomato co-founder Mohit Gupta, new initiatives head Rahul Ganju and intercity head Siddharth Jewar had resigned citing stability concerns at the senior level management.
