In the coming days, people should not face any problem, so the government is taking precautions.
In this regard, the Ministry of Commerce issued a statement late night. It urged local authorities to do a good job of ensuring supply and stable prices, and to give early warnings about any problems with the supply.

The central government usually makes extra efforts to boost the supply of fresh vegetables and pork before China's most important Lunar New Year, which is in February next year. But this year, heavy rains and storms have caused a lot of damage in China, due to which people may have to bear the brunt in the coming days.

The government is taking precautions to avoid this situation. Apart from this, the risk of corona infection is also increasing rapidly in many provinces of the country, due to which lockdown has also been imposed. In such a situation, there is a risk of disruption of the food supply.

The pandemic has put a greater focus on food security

Last week, prices of cucumbers, spinach and broccoli more than doubled compared to the beginning of October. Spinach was 16.67 yuan ($2.60) per kilogram more expensive than pork during this period, according to a vegetable price index in Shaoguang, a major trading center in Shandong.
