The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made it clear that it will consider its sponsorship policy but at present is not breaking its ties with the Chinese company. Board treasurer Arun Dhumal said that at present the board has not taken any decision to end the agreement with Chinese mobile company Vivo.

BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal on Thursday informed that Chinese mobile company Vivo will be retained as a sponsor in this year's tournament, in which the board will not exclude Chinese sponsors in this year's Indian Premier League. The sponsorship agreement between BCCI and Vivo is until 2022. This company was signed by the BCCI for 5 years for 440 crores.

India China Relations Deteriorated:

Let us tell you that the relations between India and China have deteriorated in the last few days. The whole country is furious with the full-fledged action by Chinese soldiers on the Indian border. There has been a campaign going on in the entire country to boycott Chinese goods but the BCCI has decided not to participate in it at present. It has decided that Vivo will continue its sponsorship for IPL. After this when the agreement for the sponsorship will be complete, this will be considered.

Chinese Sponsorship in IPL helps Indian Economy: Arun Dhumal

Dhumal said, "When you talk about emotional things, then you leave the logic behind. We have to understand the difference between giving benefits to China through Chinese products and getting benefits from China. When you allow a Chinese product to sell in India, whatever money they make from Indian customers, they also give a part of it to BCCI for brand promotion and the board pays 42 percent tax to the Indian government on it and it helps India economy and not China."
