At the same time, 84,825 people have returned to their homes after recovering from Corona. Whereas, the number of active cases has increased to 11,17,531. As a result, the daily positivity rate in the country has now increased to 13.11 percent.

According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday, 620 new cases of Omicron have been reported across the country in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of Omicron cases in the country has increased to 5,488. Most of the cases of Omicron are coming in from Maharashtra and Delhi. At the same time, it is a matter of relief that more than 2 thousand people infected with Omicron have been cured.

Concerned by the exponential rise of cases in the country, PM Modi will chair a meeting with the Chief Ministers of all the states today i.e. on Thursday regarding Corona. According to the information received from government sources, PM Modi will communicate with the Chief Ministers of all the states through a video conference at 4.30 pm.

It is worth noting that on Sunday, PM Modi talked about the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, the ongoing preparedness of the health infrastructure and supply system, the status of the vaccination campaign in the country, the spread of Omicron and its public health impact. In a high-level meeting held on the issue, PM Modi appealed to ensure that health infrastructures are fully equipped and urged to intensify the vaccination campaign for adults on priority.
