Risk of Omicron Variant of Corona Increased, 7 more Patients Reported in Maharashtra

The new variant of the coronavirus, Omicron, has started increasing its infection rapidly in the country. Seven new cases infected with the Omicron variant have been reported in Maharashtra.

The new variant of the coronavirus, Omicron, has started increasing its infection rapidly in the country. Seven new cases infected with the Omicron variant have been reported in Maharashtra. Earlier, the Ministry of Health had told in its press conference that a total of 25 cases in the country are of people infected with the Omicron variant. That is, now a total of 32 people in the country are infected with the Omicron variant.

17 patients of Omicron variant in Maharashtra now

In the country, nine people are infected with this variant in Rajasthan, three in Gujarat, 17 in Maharashtra, two in Karnataka and one in Delhi. Out of the 7 new cases that have been reported in Maharashtra, 3 are from Mumbai and 4 are from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. The Health Department of Maharashtra has informed that now there are 17 patients of the Omicron variant of coronavirus in the state.

The Health Department in its press conference warned people that we are in danger because we have reduced the use of masks. To protect against Omicron, we need to wear a mask, as well as we should also apply both doses of the vaccine, only then we will be able to protect ourselves from this virus.

No decision on giving vaccine to children

Because of the danger of Omicron, doctors are advising that their vaccination is very important to protect children from it, but it is worth noting that till now there is no decision on giving vaccine to children below 18 years of age in the country.

NITI Aayog Member (Health) Dr VK Paul said that no recommendation has been made by the National Technical Advisory Group (NTAGI) on vaccination of children. He told that the team is studying the information received from many sources in this regard.

Booster dose of vaccine

On the other hand, about giving a booster dose of vaccine to people above 18 years of age, he said that we are keeping an eye on the world in this regard. The booster dose of corona will be decided based on what will come out from the studies of global scientists.
