Former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara and the Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie have quarantined themselves as soon as they return from England in view of the threat of coronavirus. In view of the ever-increasing cases of Corona, instructions have been given to everyone that they should remain in quarantine for two weeks after returning from abroad. Sangakkara and Gillespie have quarantined themselves after returning from Britain.
Sangakkara said, "I have not found any signs of corona but I am following the instructions of the government. I came from London a week ago and isolate myself. " Sangakkara and former captain Mahela Jayawardene are urging people on social media to avoid panic and maintain social distance. At the same time, Gillespie has quarantined himself for two weeks. He was the head coach of the Sussex County team in England, where he was coaching the team. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced last week itself that no professional cricket would be played in the country until 28 May, in view of Corona's threats.
Gillespie tweeted, 'Presently due to the growing outbreak of Corona, it has been decided by Sussex and me that it would be best to return home to Australia. I urge everyone to please stay home. This is the only option for all of us. Our club has taken good care of all our players and staff in Sussex. We cut our pre-season trip to Cape Town and the club's absolute priority has always been the staff and players who were away from home. '
