The WHO states that the B.1.617 variant of the Corona was first revealed in India in October 2020. The rise in corona cases and deaths here has raised many questions about some other variants like B.1.617 and B.1.1.7.
The World Health Organization's Weekly Update stated that 0.1% of India's corona-positive samples were sequenced on the Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data (GISAID). So that corona variants can be detected. It was revealed that due to many variants like B.1.1.7 and B.1.612, corona cases in India increased.
According to the WHO, as of the end of April, 21% of Corona cases in India were found to have B.1.617.1 variants and 7% had B.1.617.2. It was also revealed that the growth rate of both these variants is much higher than other variants. According to the World Health Organization, Britain has the highest number of cases of B.1.617 after India.
Regarding the condition of corona worldwide, the World Health Organization says that there has been a slight decrease in new cases and deaths of infections in the past week. During this period, 55 lakh new cases came and 90,000 people lost their lives. 50% of the cases and 30% of the deaths occurred in India. Last week, 95% of the total cases in South-East Asia were from India and 93% of the total deaths occurred in India.
