Health Minister on Corona Crisis- India is even Ready for the Worst Situation

Harsh Vardhan, through video conferencing, spoke on mitigation efforts to address the coronavirus crisis during talks with health ministers and senior officials of the northeastern states, saying the death rate in the country is around 3.3 percent and the recovery rate of coronavirus patients is 29.9 percent, which is a very good indication.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Saturday that we do not expect Coronavirus to be in the same situation as other developed countries that are badly affected, yet we have kept India ready to face the worst. Harsh Vardhan, through video conferencing, spoke on mitigation efforts to address the coronavirus crisis during talks with health ministers and senior officials of the northeastern states, saying the death rate in the country is around 3.3 percent and the recovery rate of coronavirus patients is 29.9 percent, which is a very good indication.

Harshvardhan said, "The rate of doubling of cases for the last three days has been about 11 days. For the last seven days the rate of doubling of cases has been 9.9 days and in the last 14 days it is 10.7 day. Like other developed countries we do not predict the worst situation for India, yet we have kept the entire country ready for the worst."

It is worth noting that this comment of the Health Minister has come after the statement given by the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Luv Aggarwal in the press conference, Aggarwal said that we have to learn to live with the virus. Harsh Vardhan said that at present 843 hospitals are exclusively dedicated to the treatment of corona patients, which have about 1,65,991 beds.

He said that there are 1,991 health centers dedicated to corona patients across the country, with 1,35,643 beds, these include isolation as well as ICU beds. He also said that there are 7,645 quarantine centers across the country. We have distributed 69 lakh N-95 masks to various state governments. A total of 32.76 lakh PPEs have been distributed by the Center to the state governments.
