The impact of the second wave of Corona is visible in the cities as well as the villages. Due to a lack of timely investigation in the villages, people are not getting the right treatment. In such a situation, patients are dying. To find out the reality of the villages, the media came to know the ground reality of the Tathed Panchayat in the district.
In the 8 villages of the Tathed Panchayat, just 15 km from the city, there are cases of coughs, cold, and fever in every household. The 8 villages of the panchayat have a population of 6500. The medical system here is dependent on 1 doctor and 1 ANM (female nursing worker). Corona infection has spread in the village. Sampling has not started here yet. People have to travel 10 km for sampling. One has to go to Kathun or Digod to get tested and for medication.
Tathed Panchayat sarpanch Nirmala Nayak said that the corona infection has created a havoc here. In the last 18 days, 18 people have come positive. In a survey conducted by the Anganwadi Sahayika in the panchayat, 140 people have been diagnosed with cough and cold. Sampling has not yet started despite complaints from Block CMHO.
Nirmala Nayak told that in the panchayat- Tathed, Brajeshpura, Peepalda slums, Tathed slums, Peepalda, Ram Khedli, Pandey Khedli, Marwada Chowki village come. In Panchayat villages, 17 people have died in 18 days. Of these, 7 people were killed in Tathed, 3-3 in Peepalda, Ramkhedli and 4 in Pandey Khedli. Of these deaths, 3 were undergoing corona treatment.
Sanitation is being done every 3 days at the panchayat level to prevent corona infection. Anganwadi workers are going door-to-door for distributing medicine kits to patients with cough symptoms. Sarpanch Nirmala Nayak told that 60+ people have already taken both doses of the vaccine. At the same time, 45+ people have got their first dose. While vaccination of 18+ people has not started.
