Nearly 37 Crore Doses of COVID-19 Vaccines Provided to States/UTs: Centre

More than 36.97 crore (36,97,70,980) vaccine doses have been provided to states and union territories so far, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed on Monday.

More than 36.97 crore (36,97,70,980) vaccine doses have been provided to states and union territories so far, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed on Monday. Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 34,95,74,408 doses as per data available at 8 AM today.

According to a press release, more than 2.01 crore (2,01,96,572) balance and unutilized COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states and union territories and private hospitals. Meanwhile, the statement reads, "The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country. The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced on June 21 2021. The vaccination drive has been ramped up through the availability of more vaccines, advanced visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them and streamlining the vaccine supply chain."

Less than 40,000 cases reported in India:

India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 39,796 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 3,05,85,229. With 723 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 4,02,728.

The country also witnessed 42,352 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 2,97,00,430. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 97.11%. On the other hand, India's mortality rate stands at 1.32 %. There has been a steady decline in active cases of coronavirus in the country. According to the latest data of the Union Health Ministry, in the last 24 hours, the active cases in the country have been reduced by 3,279. Meanwhile, the number of active cases in the country stands at 4,82,071. The active cases rate in India stands at 1.58 %.
