Saudi Arabia Suspends Entry from UAE, Vietnam, Ethiopia due to COVID-19

Saudi Arabia on Friday suspended entry for Citizens of UAE, Ethiopia, Vietnam and Afghanistan over coronavirus concerns.

Saudi Arabia on Friday suspended entry for Citizens of UAE, Ethiopia, Vietnam and Afghanistan over coronavirus concerns. Keeping in mind the situation regarding new strains, the Saudi government has taken this decision. However, senior citizens will be allowed to travel to these countries, but for that they will have to obtain a permit from the state authorities. State-run SPA news agency has given this information. The new restrictions will come into effect from late Sunday night.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic on March 11, 2020. So far, more than 183.01 million people have been infected with the coronavirus worldwide, in which more than 3.96 million people have died. At the same time, more than 490,000 cases confirmed in Saudi Arabia so far, of which more than 7,800 have died.

UAE bars citizens to visit India, Pakistan and other countries:

At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has implemented a new travel rule for 13 countries including India. UAE has banned its citizens from traveling to several countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The Ministry of External Affairs (MoFAIC) and National Disaster Management (NCEMA) issued these guidelines on Friday.

In a notice issued to Airmen (NOTAM), UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority, said flights from 14 countries, includes Liberia, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic Of Congo, Uganda, Zambia, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and South Africa, will remain suspended until 23:59 hours of July 21, 2021. However, cargo flights, as well as business and charter flights, will exempt from the restrictions.
