Jaipur police sources stated that a woman has alleged gangrape by two drivers inside a moving bus. ACP Kanota PC Meena informed the press that incident took place on intervening night of 9-10 December.
One of the accused, Arif Khan (22) has been arrested while another accused Lalit Kumar (24) is still at large.
The 19-year-old girl boarded the bus in Kanpur, UP. Since the bus was packed, accused Arif asked the girl to sleep on a berth inside the driver’s cabin. Which they had locked from inside.
The police said that the accused raised the volume of the music inside the cabin so that passenger cannot hear the screams of the victim. While the bus was moving through the Kanota Police Station area, one passenger raised the alarm, and the bus was stopped near a petrol pump.
After a brief scuffle, passengers succeeded in getting hold of one of the accused Arif while the other named Lalit Kumar was successful to escape before police arrived the scene.
ACP Meena informed that different teams have been constituted to apprehend Lalit Kumar.
