India successfully test-fired the Agni Prime missile on Saturday from the Balasore coast of Odisha. The Agni Prime missile is a new generation missile system of the Agni series, which has a range of about 2000 km. Agni Prime ballistic missile is the sixth missile of the Agni series. This missile has the capability of hitting the ground from the ground.

What are Ballistic Missiles...

If it is said in simple words that when the guidance device is fitted with a missile, then that weapon becomes a ballistic missile. When this missile is released or fired from its place, it falls on its predetermined target according to the law of gravity of the earth. When this missile is released from a place, it goes very fast first in the upward direction and then coming down very quickly under the influence of gravity, it hits its target. Actually, when this missile is released, while going up, it goes to the upper atmosphere of the earth and then comes down. This missile is called ballistic missile only because of its going and coming in this way. The range of this missile ranges from 5000 km to 10000 km.

Due to the direction device installed in this missile, it is guided at the beginning of its launch. After that, as it moves up, its direction is determined by the principles of orbital mechanics and the principles of ballistics. Currently, ballistic missiles are propelled by chemical rocket engines. These missiles have the capability to carry a large amount of explosives. India has Prithvi, Agni, and Dhanush missiles in the form of ballistic missiles.

Agni Prime-New generation advanced missile system

A government official told the media on Saturday that India has successfully test-fired the Agni Prime missile from the Balasore coast of Odisha. He said that the Agni Prime missile is a new generation advanced missile system in the Agni series of missiles. It is a canister based missile, which has a range of between 1,000 and 2,000 km.

He said that this nuclear-capable missile has been designed and developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). Agni Prime can either be carried on the train or can also be kept in a canister. He said that during this test, many new features have been added to the nuclear-capable tactical missile Agni Prime. The missile test fulfilled all its mission objectives with a high degree of accuracy.

India also successfully launched Torpedo System this week

Let us tell you that this week, the 'Supersonic Missile Assisted Torpedo System' (SMAT) was also successfully launched from Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast. According to the DRDO, this system has been designed to enhance the anti-submarine warfare capabilities, which is much more than the range of conventional torpedoes.

After the successful test of SMAT, DRDO said in a statement that the test went as planned. During this, the entire project was monitored by various Range Radars including Down Range Instrumentation, Electro-Optic Telemetry System and Down Range Ship. A torpedo, a parachute delivery system, and a release mechanism were all included in the missile.
