Priyanka Gandhi Attacked the BJP Government on the Rising Inflation

Prices of several vegetables have gone up in Delhi, most notably capsicum which is selling at Rs 100 per kg.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Center on the issue of inflation, saying that there has been a decline in the income of 97 percent of the families.

She said on her Twitter, "When you buy petrol and diesel, remember that the Modi government has earned 23 lakh crores through taxes."

"When you buy cooking oil and vegetables, remember that during the rule of this government, although the income of 97 percent households has come down, Modi's friends are earning Rs 1,000 crore daily."
Petrol and diesel prices hit their all-time high across the country as fuel rates were hiked for the third consecutive day on Friday.

Price notification

According to a price notification by state-owned fuel retailers, the pump price of petrol in Delhi rose by 35 paise to an all-time high of Rs 106.89 per liter, while diesel rates also increased by the same margin to Rs 95.62 per liter.

In the financial capital Mumbai, the price of petrol has gone up to Rs 112.79 per liter, while the price of diesel has gone up to Rs 103.7 per liter, which is the highest among all the metros.

Meanwhile, prices of several vegetables have gone up in Delhi, most notably capsicum which is selling at Rs 100 per kg.

Tomatoes continued their high growth since the weekend, while tender coconut prices also touched Rs 65 apiece on Thursday.

Brinjal, cauliflower, and ladyfinger are selling at Rs 60 per kg in west Delhi, while buyers have to pay Rs 80 for a kg of tomato, taro root, and carrot.

After the government intervened and sent the buffer stock to the open markets, onion prices came down to Rs 40 per kg, similar to that of potatoes.

Many other vegetables are being sold for less than Rs 60 per kg. Gourd and cucumber are being sold for Rs 39 while pumpkin is being sold for Rs 29 per kg.
