India Surpassed China in QS Asia University Rankings 2024

QS Asia University Rankings 2024: This is a moment of pride as per the reports on Wednesday India beats China to have the highest number of universities in the QS Asia University Rankings. 

In the latest QS World University Rankings for Asia, India is on the list with 148 featured universities, 37 more than last year. Second on the list we have Mainland China with 133 universities and Japan with 96, the third highest.

Seven universities in India were among the top 100 Asian universities. With this as compared to last year India has the highest number of new entrants on the list that is 37 followed by China which had only seven new entrants this year.

IITs secured their ranks in the list under the Top 50

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay secured 40th rank on the list emerging as the highest-ranking Indian institution in Asia this year.

As per a press release, IIT Bombay got a score of 67.2 out of 100. 

The Institute has achieved 83.5 in academic reputation, 9.3 in citation per paper, 96 in employer reputation, 14.8 in faculty-student ratio, 95.7 in papers per faculty, 100 in staff with PhD, 66.3 international research network, 3 in international students ratio, 11.1 in international faculty ratio, 2.1 in inbound exchange and 4.1 in outbound exchange.

In the QS Asia University rankings 2024, Chandigarh University nailed its top spot among the private universities in India. CU secured the 149th spot this last year it was 185th.

The University is currently in the  11th position among the private and public universities in the country.

Chandigarh University is ahead of nine IITs and five NITs on the list and not just this in the QS World Ranking CU has surpassed many international universities, including universities from Japan, South Korea, China, and other nations.
