Karnataka is the First State to Implement National Education Policy

Karnataka on Monday became the first state in the country to implement the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Karnataka has implemented the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. With this, Karnataka on Monday became the first state in the country to implement the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the government will introduce two policies of digitization and research and development to help implement this new education policy.

While launching the NEP in Karnataka, the Chief Minister said, "Karnataka has become the first state in the country to implement NEP, 2020. If we want to make it successful, then we have to reach it to every child in the state.

Karnataka become a laboratory in the implementation of NEP

On this occasion, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that Karnataka has set a perfect example for other states in the country in terms of implementing the new National Education Policy (NEP-2020). Pradhan said that Karnataka has played a major role and has become a laboratory in the implementation of the new National Education Policy.

The Union Education Minister said that the number of student communities in India is about 31 crore (from standard class 01 to higher education) and 2.5 crore new students are added every year. The real challenge lies in taking the benefits of the new National Education Policy 2020 to all of them. Pradhan said that the success of NEP 2020 will enable the creation of a new global order.

New Digitization Policy

Underlining the need for digitization, the Chief Minister said, "Digitalization is important for education, for which we will come up with a new digitization policy, which will reach every village, school, university and degree level students will be provided iPads under it." He lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his goal of bringing about a fundamental change in education through NEP.

First-year students will get tablets

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that if the new policy is implemented successfully, the education system can be freed from vertical silos, compartmentalization and closed jacket structure of the teaching-learning process. The Chief Minister also announced that those appearing for the first year degree courses would be given tablet PCs this year.

Schools open

At the same time, in Karnataka, schools from classes 9 to 12 have been reopened from 23 August. However, schools have been opened only in a few selected districts. The State Government of Karnataka has issued a Statement of Procedure (SOP) and it is mandatory for all educational institutions to adhere to the norms stated in the SOP.
