World University Rankings 2025: Oxford University has once again claimed the title of the world's top university for the ninth consecutive year.

According to the 'Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025,' Oxford emerged as the top-ranked institution. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) ranked second, becoming the highest-ranked university in the U.S., overtaking Stanford University, which has dropped from second to sixth place—its lowest ranking since 2010.

The official website reported that Stanford's decline in the rankings is due to lower scores in teaching, research, environment, and international outlook.

Harvard University moved up from fourth to third place, while Princeton University rose from sixth to fourth. While U.S. and U.K. institutions still dominate the top rankings, both countries are witnessing a sharp decline in their average research and teaching reputations.
