Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has affirmed that she has signed Mani Ratnam's upcoming film adaptation of Tamil epic novel Ponniyin Selvan, is probably going to be seen assuming double roles in the profoundly foreseen undertaking, as per sources.
In the film, Aishwarya is relied upon to be viewed as Nandini, the spouse of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar (a pretended by Telugu on-screen character Mohan Babu), and her mute mother, Queen Mandakini Devi. Aishwarya is said to be amped up for the double roles and quickly seized the open door when she was offered the film.
Lyca Productions is bankrolling the undertaking on a lavish scale. The principal shooting will start next year. The creators are yet to formally declare the cast and group. It is being estimated that the film likewise stars Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Amitabh Bachchan, Anushka Shetty, Keerthy Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Amala Paul among others.

The pre-generation take a shot at Ponniyin Selvan has just initiated. The producers are raising enormous sets to shoot significant segments of the film.
Ponniyin Selvan recounts to the narrative of Arulmozhivarman, one of the rulers of the Chola tradition during the tenth and eleventh hundreds of years. Mani Ratnam has been intending to adjust Ponniyin Selvan as a film since numerous years.
He had wanted to make the film almost 10 years prior with actors Vijay and Mahesh Babu. The venture nearly went on the floors but was eventually shelved for unknown reasons.
