NCB mentioned darknet and bitcoin soon after the cruise raid. Now the agency has claimed that the darknet has been used for payments made to buy drugs. Although Aryan had done this, the agency has not said anything clearly about this.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has made a new claim about Aryan Khan. According to the agency, these people were using the darknet for transactions related to drugs.
Aryan Khan himself had made this payment. The agency has not told anything clearly about this at the moment. Aryan Khan, Merchant, and Dhamecha, accused in this case, have moved the Bombay High Court. However, their bail and petitions will be heard on October 26.
The news agency PTI quoted an NCB official. They said that the agency has seized hydroponic weed from the accused, whose number is now 20. It was bought through the darknet. NCB had allegedly found MDMA from some of the accused during the raids.
The official said that these drugs are mostly imported from Europe and America. The agency is now probing from where the accused got it. To order these drugs, payments were being made through the darknet.
Darknet is a secret internet portal that can be accessed only with specific software, configuration, etc. This is not the first time that NCB has mentioned darknet and bitcoin in the immediate aftermath of the cruise raid.
However, now the agency has claimed how the darknet has been used. Let us tell you that in many terrorist attacks, there have been cases of attackers buying weapons through the darknet. There are reports of illegal material being easily available on the darknet.
Significantly, Shahrukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was not caught with drugs. However, NCB is accusing him of being part of a bigger network. After eight people, including Aryan, were arrested on October 3, the agency conducted several raids and in a month 12 others were arrested.
The arrested accused include Achit Kumar, who recently told the court that his future was being spoiled by calling him a 'peddler'. The lawyer told the court that he studies in London and a university in India due to the pandemic. His bail plea has also been opposed by the NCB, while the agency said that he is not calling him a peddler, but there is some evidence against him.
Aryan Khan, Merchant, and Dhamecha, accused in this case, have moved the Bombay High Court for bail and their petitions will be heard on October 26. Aryan Khan is currently lodged in Arthur Road Jail in central Mumbai. Earlier, the NDPS court had rejected the bail applications of his friend Arbaaz Merchant and fashion model Munmun Dhamecha.
While denying bail to the trio, the special court had said that Aryan Khan's WhatsApp chat prima facie shows that he was indulging in illegal drug activities on a regular basis and that he was in touch with drug peddlers. The court also held that Aryan Khan knew that his friend and co-accused Arbaaz Merchant was in possession of drugs.
