Bhushan Kumar Announced Saroj Khan’s Biopic on her 1st Death Anniversary

The story of the struggle and success of India's first female choreographer is now going to be presented on screen. The biopic of Hindi cinema's most famous choreographer Saroj Khan is about to start soon. Saroj Khan's heirs have given the legal rights of his biopic to film and music company T-Series.

Nirmala Kishanchand Sadhu Singh Nagpal aka Saroj Khan, who made a splash in Indian cinema with her dance choreography, was known for many highly successful songs. The number one actresses of Hindi cinema have been considering him as their dance guru. She was active in front of the camera for 50 years, got a lot of popularity for all the songs that came in the ninth and last decade of the last century.

Choreographer Saroj Khan was one of the few women who worked in Hindi cinema at a time when almost all technicians were men. Saroj Khan entered the industry at the age of three and became a dancer at the age of 10. At the age of 12, she became an assistant choreographer.

Saroj Khan, who has choreographed about 3500 songs in her career, has given excellent dance lessons on many hit songs like 'Ek Do Teen', 'Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai', 'Hawa Hawai', 'Dhak Dhak Karne Laga'. Apart from these choreographed in films like 'Devdas', 'Lamhe', 'Nagina', 'Kalank', 'Chandni', 'Saawariya', 'Taal', 'Beta', 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', and many more. Generations of his popular songs have been crazy. A thrice National Award winner and known for his tuning with Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi, Saroj Khan also collaborated with several newcomers.

Producer Bhushan Kumar of the film says about this. "Saroj Ji not only enthralled the audience with the cast performing his dance moves. But also revolutionized the choreography in Hindi cinema. She brought the audience to the theaters and the audience saw their favorite actors dancing at her behest. I remember accompanying my father to film sets. Where it was a different experience to see Sarojji bring life to the songs with his choreography. His dedication to the arts was commendable."

Saroj Khan passed away on July 3 last year. His last days of work include his work with Madhuri Dixit in the film 'Kalank'. And television appearances as a judge in dance shows like 'Nach Baliye' and 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'.
