Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap has been accused by the BJP. The BJP said that Akhilesh Government of UP had given 2 crores to Anurag Kashyap for the production of Masaan film. Now Anurag Kashyap is asking the Yogi government for the film 'Saand Ki Aankh' and 'Mukkabaaz'. BJP spokesperson Prem Shukla said that the reason for Anurag Kashyap's Modi hatred has now been exposed. Anurag has been collecting such funds. In its support, the BJP has issued three letters which are of Member Secretary, Information and Liaison Department, Uttar Pradesh.

In the first letter, it is clearly written that in response to the letter dated 11 December 2014 by Anurag Kashyap, the Information Liaison Department, UP, on 1 March 2015, recommends to issue an amount of 2 crores. It has been written in the letter that the total cost for the production of Masaan film came to 8 crores and 97 percent of the film is shot in UP. Therefore, the information department releases 25 percent of the cost under the film policy of the UP government.

In response to the grant letter of Anurag Kashyap in the context of Saand Ki Aankh ' film, Information and Liaison Department, UP on 28 September 2018 clearly wrote that your request has not been found under the film policy. In a similar letter, the Information Department wrote to Anurag Kashyap on 13 December 2019 regarding the film 'Mukkabaaz'and expressed his inability to give subsidy. Apparently, through these letters, the BJP has targeted filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. Significantly, Anurag Kashyap has been vocal against the Modi government on the Citizenship Law (CAA) and NRC.
