Bombay High Court may Hear Aryan Khan’s Bail Application Today

Aryan Khan, son of actor Shah Rukh Khan, who is lodged in Arthur Road jail in the cruise drug case, has not got relief from the special court. He has approached the Bombay High Court after his bail application was rejected by the NDPS court on Wednesday. The High Court is likely to hear his bail application today. Aryan's lawyer has challenged the special court's decision. While deciding on Aryan's bail application on Wednesday, the court said that prima facie he appears to be regularly involved in drug-related activities. The court said that even the WhatsApp chat prima facie shows that he was in contact with drug smugglers.

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had raided a cruise going from Mumbai to Goa. Drugs like cocaine, MDMA, heroin were recovered from this cruise. After this, the NCB arrested Aryan and the other accused on October 3. Aryan is in the custody of the law for the last 17 days. NCB has so far arrested 20 people including foreign nationals in this case. NCB argues that Aryan Khan is also a part of the international gang of drugs racket. The probe agency says that since Aryan comes from an influential family. He can influence the evidence if he is released on bail.

Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha's application also rejected

At the same time, defense lawyers say that there has been no recovery of any narcotics from Aryan Khan, nor is he involved in the sale of drugs, so he is entitled to bail. On Wednesday, the court also rejected the bail applications of Arbaaz Merchant (26) and fashion model Munmun Dhamecha (28) along with his two friends. Soon after the bail application was rejected, Aryan and Dhamecha's lawyers moved the High Court for bail. Legal sources said the matter is likely to be mentioned before Justice N W Sambre on Thursday for an urgent hearing.
