Internal vigilance probe has started against Mumbai NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede in the cruise drugs case. Wankhede is accused of dealing with Rs 25 crore for the release of Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan in a drug case. Dnyaneshwar Singh, Deputy Director-General of NCB and Chief Vigilance Officer of the agency said that he himself is monitoring the investigation against Wankhede.
Dnyaneshwar Singh was asked whether Sameer Wankhede would continue in his post even during the investigation? To this question, he said that we have just started the investigation, so it is too early to comment on it. Singh said that an independent witness had circulated certain facts on social media through an affidavit, taking cognizance of it, the DG NCB has marked the vigilance. The investigation has been ordered today, the decision will be taken on the basis of facts and evidence.
At the same time, in the cruise drugs case, NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede appeared in the special NDPS court on Monday and filed two affidavits. Wankhede said he was being targeted. He said that his sister and late mother are also being targeted. Wankhede says that he is ready for investigation. He said that everything is being done to weaken the case.
Of the two affidavits, one was filed by Wankhede and the other by NCB. Sameer Wankhede said in the affidavit that he was being threatened and the investigation was being influenced. At the same time, NCB has said in the affidavit that the independent arbitrator in the cruise drugs case is being hosted.
His wife Kranti Redkar has come in his support between the fingers rising on Wankhede. Public prosecutorAdvait Sethna read out Prabhakar's statement as a panch in the court. He said that if Prabhakar had to make a complaint as a panch, he could have done so in the court, but he did not. Prabhakar has filed his complaint after 22 days through different means, due to which the officials are being targeted personally.
