This film was Shahrukh Khan's Pardes. Subhash Ghai was looking for a fresh face for this film for which he had auditioned more than 3000 girls, however, his search ended on seeing Mahima.
Seeing the best performance of her in the first film, she was awarded the Filmfare Best Actress Debut Award. After this, the actress appeared in dozens of films like Daag The Fire, Dhadkan, Kurukshetra, Lajja, Dil Hai Tumhaara, Om Jai Jagdish and Dhadkan. Mahima Chaudhary has been in a relationship with Indian tennis player Leander Paes. After living with each other for 6 years, both of them broke up.
