Vivek Agnihotri, the director of "The Kashmir Files," has revealed that he sent a legal notice to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding her recent comments.

Banerjee had claimed that films like "The Kashmir Files" and the recently released "The Kerala Story" were produced with the intent of disparaging a particular community.

Screenshots of the legal notice sent by Vivek Agnihotri were made public by the filmmaker.

Mamata Banerjee's Controversial Remarks on 'The Kashmir Files'

During a press conference held at the state secretariat in Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee stated that "'The Kashmir Files' is meant to humiliate a certain section of society. 'The Kerala Story' is a distorted narrative.

The Kashmir Files was released in 2022

Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files was released in 2022 and depicts the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s.

Meanwhile, The Kerala Story, produced by Vipul Shah, has been facing bans in several states due to its plot which revolves around a group of women from Kerala who converted to Islam and joined the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
