Lock Upp contestant and stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui reveal his heart-wrenching secret about how his mother took acid as she was struggling to clear a Rs 3500 debt. Munawar Faruqui lost his mother in 2007. At the Lock Upp show, it wasn’t Munawar’s turn to reveal the secret but he couldn’t hold it long and wanted to share his experience of losing his mom.

Munawar took permission from Kangna as he wanted to share his traumatic experience with everyone. Kangna Ranaut melts after hearing his painful story commenting on Munawar that he is the strongest person who could collect the courage to share his traumatic experience on National Television.

Munawar Shares Horrific View When his Mother Got Hospitalized

Munawar shares, that in January of 2007, our community was bitterly cold. My daadi used to wake me up at 7 a.m. She informed me that something had occurred to my mother, who had been admitted to the hospital. I had just awoken, and the hospital was only a 10-minute runaway.

When I arrived, I witnessed my mother being wheeled out of the emergency department. She screamed in agony, clutching her stomach. Mine bade papa, Badi Ammi, papa, and sister were all present. They had no idea. We brought her to a larger hospital, which was rather far away. And they gave her something, but it didn't work. I was terrified.

Munawar Learning a Shocking Truth

My khala's (mother's sister) daughter worked as a nurse in the hospital. My Badi Ammi led me to a corner and said, "Teri mummy ne acid pi Liya hai" (Your mom has consumed acid). I questioned her why she hadn't told me earlier. She warned us that we'd all be in big danger. I dashed over to my khala ki beti (nurse) and told her everything.

She was taken aback since, as we had previously advised her, there were therapies available. They escorted her to the viewing area. All of the physicians showed up. It lasted till 2 p.m. since it was Jummah. Outside the hospital, there was a large gathering. The entire mohalla showed up. I was holding my mother's hand and just knew she'd be OK.

I observed the doctors talking between themselves at one point, and then they urged me to leave her hands alone. They forced me to let go of her hand. Then I realized she was no longer alive.

Munawar Shares About His Regret

I still believe that if I had slept next to my mother every night, she would have lived. I stayed with my daadi that night since there was some celebration (Muharram, I believe). At the same time, my mother's body had stopped working and she hadn't eaten anything for 7-8 days, according to the post mortem report.

Munawar Shares About Realising His Mother’s Struggle

After reading the papers, I realized she had never been happy in her marriage for the last 22 years. Throughout my youth, I witnessed her being beaten up or having family conflicts. When we have 'chakli' responsibilities here, it reminds me of her. She'd create them to support her family.

My father would be lost in his world. My mother would prepare 'papad,' and we would go sell it. My mother was never respected. She was living a life like this. When my sister married someone of her choosing two months before my mother died, the entire family blamed my mother.

Munawar Shares How His Mother was Struggling to Clear Debt of Rs. 3500

2007 was a terrible year for us. To buy food, we had to sell our kitchenware. To top it all off, she was under pressure to repay Rs. 3500 loan. She took out the loan for us. The moneylender will arrive and demand payment - iss mahine ka Rs 700 Dena hai.

Nobody cared... it was only Rs 3500. And I simply can't get it out of my head. I'm only wondering why I didn't sleep next to her, why I didn't get to the hospital on time, why we didn't have Rs. 3500. What good is it that I am now making a lot of money and am financially secure?

I didn't have it when I needed it. Ye mere dil and dimaag nahi ja rahi. There was no single cause that compelled her to make this choice. The entire mohalla was present that day because my mom had stood by everyone when they needed help.

If somebody became unwell, my mother would pay them a visit and bring them fruits. She was a really good lady and a powerful woman. Why didn't I question her when I saw she was silent for a few days.

Munawar said ‘I Remind of My Mother Whenever I See Fights’

Munawar sobs as he continues, "The reason I don't pick fights is that it reminds me of my mother." I spent my entire youth watching boxing. I don't want to yell."

Munawar’s Story Leaves Everyone in Pain, Including Kangana

Kangana Ranaut and everyone else in the house became upset and burst into tears. They went to see Munawar and soothe him. "By sharing your tale, you will motivate millions to recover," Kangana said. But, at the same time, nothing can compensate for the loss of a parent, particularly a mother.

We sincerely apologize. The environment mom provided you, and the type of guy you aspire to be is incredible." Munawar said, "Mujhe kisiko badnaam karke khud ko evidence Nahi Karna hai," Munawar explained, "therefore I don't talk about it." Kangana compliments him, stating he has earned more hearts.
