Mithun Chakraborty's father Basant Kumar died in Mumbai on Tuesday. His father was 95 years old and was ill from a long time. Mithun Chakraborty is stuck in Bengaluru due to the lockdown. He went there for the shoot and got stuck there after the announcement of 21-days of lockdown.

The actor is trying to go to Mumbai for his father's funeral. Bengali actress Rituparna Sen Gupta has reported the death of Mithun Chakraborty's father on social media. She wrote – My deep condolences on the sudden demise of your father, Mithun Da. Stay strong and may his soul rest in peace forever.

According to the reports, Basant Kumar died due to kidney failure. Mithun Chakraborty's elder son Mimoh was with Basant Kumar at the time of his death.

Basant Kumar has four children, which includes one son and three daughters. Gaurang Chakraborty i.e. Mithun is the eldest among children. He lives with his elder son Mithun Chakraborty. Mithun Da is currently trying to come to Mumbai.
