Sanjay Leela Bhansali's most awaited film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' is all set to hit the theaters in early 2022. Alia Bhatt plays the role of mafia queen Gangubai in the film and Ajay Devgn will be seen playing the cameo role of Karim Lala in the film. Nawazuddin Siddiqui's name was also going to be added to this film, although the matter could not be made due to the absence of Nawaz's scheduled match. This has been disclosed by Nawaz himself.
According to the report, both the makers and Nawazuddin were showing interest in doing it together, however, the talk kept building up after the actor did not get the dates. As per the report, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was offered the role of a journalist in the film Gangubai Kathiawadi and both the parties agreed to it, but due to the dates, things could not work out.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently received a nomination for Best Performance at the Emmy Awards for his film 'The Serious Man'.
To this, the actor said, working with a director like Sudhir Mishra and playing the role of Ayan Mani in Serious Man was like a dream come true for me, and getting an International Emmy nomination is like the fruit of that hard work. Let us tell you that Gangubai Kathiawadi is going to be released in theaters on 6 January 2022. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, Huma Qureshi, and Emraan Hashmi in pivotal roles.
