Haryana Government Increased DA by 28 Percent for Employees and Pensioners

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has announced to increase the rate of DA from 17 percent to 28 percent on the lines of the central government.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has announced to increase the rate of dearness allowance from 17 percent to 28 percent on the lines of the central government. The increased rate will be applicable from July 1, 2021. Haryana's 2.85 lakh employees and 2.62 lakh pensioners will be benefited from the increase in inflation. The enhanced dearness allowance also includes DA payable from January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020, and January 1, 2021. A government spokesperson said this would put an additional burden of about Rs 210 crore on the state exchequer every month.

DA payable from January 1

In June, the salary of computer teachers and lab assistants was increased. Earlier in June, the government had increased the salaries of about 4500 computer teachers and lab assistants working in the state, who have been fighting for jobs for the last eight years, from April 1. Earlier, 15 thousand rupees were being given to computer teachers and 9 thousand rupees per month to lab assistants. Now they will get 18000 and 12000 rupees per month.

Relief from the Salary Hike

The contract of these employees expired on May 31. Chief Minister Manohar Lal had announced to increase his salary long ago, but some screw got stuck in it. State President of Computer Teachers Welfare Association, Balram Dhiman said that the contract of computer teachers and lab assistants has ended on May 31. It should also be extended. Every year the government does not pay the salary in the month of June. Due to this the contract is again extended in July.

Association secretary Sunil Verma said that the employees have got relief from the salary hike. The association thanks to the Chief Minister for this. Their demand is that the contract should be made for 12 months without deducting the salary of summer and winter holidays.
