The four MPs reached Lucknow with a plan to visit the violence affected areas. On knowing this, he has been detained at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow. These include former Union Minister Dinesh Trivedi along with Lok Sabha MP Pratima Mandal and Adhir Vishwas and Rajya Sabha Nadimul Haque. These four MPs have been stopped at the airport in Lucknow.

The four MPs have reached Lucknow to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Register of Citizenship. If all of them asked for permission to come to Lucknow, they were not allowed. Even after this, these people reached Lucknow Airport. Uttar Pradesh DGP OP Singh said that we came to know that some Trinamool Congress MPs want to come to Lucknow. We directly refused to come to Lucknow citing the enforcement of Section 144. His arrival would have made the atmosphere more tense. For this reason, they have been stopped at the airport itself. Even after this, all four are insistent on going to the violence-hit area.
