Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Sunday that out of the three six rivers in 'Akhand Bharat', water from India is flowing into Pakistan, which is now being worked out by the central government to prevent water from part of India. He said that Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh will get this water.
Addressing the Gujarat BJP's digital 'Jan Samman' rally from Nagpur, Maharashtra, he also said that India believes in peace and non-violence and does not want to become strong by being an expansionist.
Gadkari said, "There were six rivers in Akhand Bharat (pass through both India and Pakistan. As per partition, the water of three rivers was reserved for Pakistan, while the water of the other three rivers was to be used by India. But our Part of the water is also flowing in Pakistan.
He said that for the first time since 1970, we asked our former J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik and Punjab Congress CM Amarinder Singh to sign the treaty. We are working to stop the water from flowing into Pakistan. Now Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttarakhand and Himachal will get this water. Our government is showing courage to take this decision. Otherwise nothing like this has happened since 1970.
