DDMA approves Chhath Puja in Delhi, Covid Protocols will have to be followed

On this subject, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia urged the Health Minister to make guidelines regarding Corona. But BJP said that there is already a guideline regarding festivals. After that CM Arvind Kejriwal appealed for relaxation in the rules.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that in today's meeting of DDMA it was decided that Chhath Puja will be allowed in Delhi. This will be done with very strict protocol at the places already decided by the government. A limited number of people will be allowed.

Decision was taken in view of the Corona epidemic

It was announced not to organize Chhath Puja at any public places including Yamuna Ghat in Delhi. At that time, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority headed by the Lieutenant Governor had issued instructions regarding Chhath Puja. DDMA had told the current situation of Covid behind the decision. DDMA had advised people to celebrate Chhath Puja safely at their homes.

In a statement issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, it was said that due to the threat of coronavirus, the Chhath Puja festival will not be allowed in public places, river banks and temples etc. The public was advised to celebrate Chhath Puja in homes. The Covid preventive measure in Delhi is effective till November 15. Last year also, the Delhi government had banned the celebration of Chhath Puja.
